Tech studied the results of the scans in confusion. It was telling him everything he already knew. But one thing it did point out was Cassidy's slight fever suddenly spiking. Worried, he took her temperature. "This shouldn't be happening.." He muttered to himself.
Rose stepped up. "Is something wrong?"
"Yes...Cassidy currently has a body temperature of 122."
Rose looked shocked. "That's not good."
Tech hurried back to Cassidy's bed. "We have to take off a bit of her uniform to let her body breathe a little better." He handed the thermometer to Rev. "Take Seth's temperature. If it's above 100 then we have something to really worry about."
Rev nodded and ran to Seth's bed.

Tech carefully slipped off Cassidy's mask, revealing her mahogany-brown fur, then he took her gloves off. Finally, he untucked her shirt and rolle the bottom of it up halfway up her tummy, revealing a long, ragged scar just above her waistline. Tech paused at stared at it for a moment, then returned to figuring out what to do next.

(He's stll in Cassidy....unconscious XD)

Tech glanced up at his younger brother. "Relax, Seth. Rev is just checking your temperature."

"Why the heck is he anyway?! I feel fine!" Seth turned to his older sibling, pausing in his outburst when he saw Cassidy. "Is she okay?"

Tech looked a little grim. "I don't know yet. Whatever it was that took control of your body took Cassidy."

Seth nodded slowly. He then looked around for Quick. "Quick, where are you?"

From seemingly out of nowhere, the Spanish mouse ran up to her boyfreind's side. "Are you okay, Seth?"

"I'm fine." Seth smiled at her.

Quick smiled back and stroked his forehead. Then she started to worry, he felt a bit hotter than before.

"I don't think so." Rev said, showing Tech the thermometer. It read 102.

Tech nodded. "Quick., get a cloth and get it wet with very cold water.....heck, get two please."

Sapphire was standing nearby Rose, and she could see the long jagged scar along Cassidy's waist. What had happened? She was itching to know. Finally, she couldn't hold it in any longer. "Tech? ..What happened" Bringing the scar to the others' attentions.

Tech stared at it blankly for a moment. "That.. was a while ago.." He didn't say any more. The girl could tell that he was trying to avoid it, like one avoids telling of a tragic accident. Wait.... WAS it a tragic accident? What DID happen?

Tech tried to ignore the girl's gaze, but eventually he felt himself cracking. Which angered him. He didn't want to talk about it, couldn't she see that?! "Sapph. Please. Not now." He growled slightly at her, warning her. Today was just NOT the day to mess with him.

Tech spun around to face Duck. His eyes narrowed slightly, but before he could snap at the mallard, he remembered his job. He turned back around and focused on Seth and Cassidy again, not a word passing between any of them.

Rose stood there in ackward silence, stroking her daughter's forehead and pretending that she wasn't part of the conversation.

(DIDN'T SEE THAT COMIN DID YA? XD)

(Alright, hang on to your shorts *cracks knuckles*)

"Tecchh.." Cassidy's head suddenly tossed, and she groaned in discomfort. Although her eyes were open, she couldn't see properly. Everything was blurry and fogged. Her head was spinning to the point where she thought she was going to hurl.

Tech was at her side instantly. "Cass? Can you hear me?"

Cassidy nodded slowly. "What's going on?" Her voice was low and weak.

Tech petted her head. "Do you remember what happened when you talked to Seth?"

She was silent for a moment. "....Mmm I think so. I remember trying to fight something... fight something that was inside of me..... it was... that... thing that possessed Seth.. right?"

Tech nodded. "He's still in there... but he's uncoscious right now. I just need you to relax and rest while Rev and I figure out how to get rid of him, okay?"

Cassidy nodded. "Alright." She then went to move her arms to take his hand, but her eyes widened in surprise when she felt the straps around her wrists, restricting her movements. "T-tech?" Her voice started shaking, as well as her body. "Wh-what are these doing on me?"

"Cass.. relax... it's only temporary... I put them there if whoever it is that is in you now woke up and-"

"Please...Tech....... please take them off." Cassidy begged. "Please....I... I don't like them...."

"Cass.. I can't... not until I get the guy out."

"Tech......I... I don't.... I don't feel good. I can't breathe Tech...." Cassidy was hyperventalating now, trying to pull against the restraints, fighting them.

"Easy, Cass... Come on, breathe with me.."

Cassidy tried to kep her breathing steady, but she was failing miserably. She couldn't handle the feeling of the straps on her wrists. She knew Tech had a reason for it, and that he would never hurt her, but she just couldn't handle it.

Cassidy jumped at first when Sapphire's hand touched her. She managed to give her freind a smile. "I....I'm trying..." Her breathing was still rapid and laboured, her body was still shaking, but she had stopped fighting the restraints at least. She was trying.

Rose stayed where she was, stroking Cassidy's forehead. She started to hum a light tune, trying to get her to relax.

Cassidy's mind froze for a moment. She.. she recongized that tune. From where she did not know. But it calmed her a bit, making her think about where she'd heard it instead of the straps around her wrists.

Rose smiled. Little did the Cassidy or the others know that the tune was one that Rose had used to rock Andrew, Maria, and Cassidy to sleep when they were younger. Cassidy's memory of it was a lot fainter, between the meteor and Rose's having disappeared after Cassidy's third week of life. The memory of that almost brought tears to the older coyote's eyes, but she quickly kept them back. Yes, she wasn't around for a lot of her children's life, but now she was, and she was not going to leave them again if she could help it.

Tech placed the cloth on Cassidy's burning forehead. "Does that feel good?"

Cassidy nodded. "Is Seth okay?" Her breathing rate was returning to a more normal level, and she only shook a little bit every once in a while. The worst was over. As long as she didn't see any blood or needles, she'd be fine ^^

Sapphire looked up at Seth, biting on her lip to not laugh out. She failed, epic-ly.

Icy sighed in frustration. She had a feeling that this whole ordeal was a long time coming. Cassidy seemed to be a bad-luck magnet. Icy smirked as she remembered the first time she'd met the coyote. Her right arm had been bandaged up and in a sling. She remembered Cassidy's reaction when she saw that they had the same colour uniforms. The older girl had seemed shocked to say the least. But she had said nothing.

The fox could tell that none of the team had told Cassidy anything about what had happened to her. Why they hadn't confused her though. Especially if they had given Cassidy her uniform colour. In a way, Icy felt as if they had given up on her, like they had tried to replace her. The irony hit her when she got to know Cassidy a lot better.

Icy remembered her jaw hitting the floor when she first saw Cassidy take Tech's hand and give him a kiss on the cheek. Dude? Tech got a girlfreind? FOR REAL?

That's when something hit her. Cassidy was that girl. The girl Tech ran into at college. Oh, how much fun she and Rev had when Tech told them about her. Oh, how much they teased him, only to get kicked out of the ice cream shop for being too loud. 

(Flashback)

"Tech, come on!! Spill already would ya?"
 
"Please Tech tell us! It's driving us nuts!!"
 
"Guys, seriously! It's nothing!"
 
"You meeting a girl is not NOTHING." A white fox leaned her chair back, crossing her arms and giving her coyote partner a look. "In fact, you realizing that they're are people besides us and your family is a miracle." She snorted.
 
"Good one, Ice!" A roadrunner held his hand up and the fox slapped hers on it in a high five.
 
Tech's face was bright red. "I thought we were here to get something to eat and take a break from studying. Not gossiping like little girls."
 
Icy glared at him. "I'm only interested because this is the perfect opportunity for you to get yourself a life."
 
"So tell us what happened." Rev urged his freind on.
 
Icy, Rev, and Tech had been best freinds for as long as they could remember. They had basically grown up together. Icy, the fire-headed tomboy, Rev, the speedy clown, and then Tech, the quiet brainiac, made the most dysfunctional group ever seen. But Tech's recent discovery of another living organism, namely, a young female coyote anthro, had sent the other two for a loop. And they wanted details.
 
"It's not a big deal.....I only met her for two minutes..."
 
"What did she say?" Rev asked, rocking back and forth in his chair, the chair legs lifting off and resting back on the ground as he went.
 
"Well... she apologized..."
 
Icy blinked. "Why?"
 
"The thing is..... we... kinda ran into each other...."
 
"DUDE! You knocked her down, didn't ya?!" Icy burst out laughing, earning glares from the other customers, which she ignored.
 
"Knocked her off her feet!!" Rev added, sending both fox and roadrunner into fits of laughter.
 
Tech's face was completely red now. "Shut it, you two. You're gonna get us kicked out again."
 
Rev and Icy slowly calmed themselves down, but not soon enough. The store manager came up to them and pointed to the door.

The three gathered their stuff and left quickly. Once outside, Icy pulled a blue skateboard from her backpack and jumped on it, gliding along the sidewalk between Tech and Rev. "So, you gonna talk to her again?" Icy poked Tech's shoulder, smiling widely, showing off her sharp canine teeth.

Tech shrugged, trying to act all 'cool' about the situation, but inside he felt nervous. "I think I-" But before the coyote could finish his sentence, he stumbled on a raised spot in the concrete and fell flat on his face.

Icy and Rev exchanged mishevious smiles. "You know what Tech? Keep practicing that. Then she'll be able to recognize you." Rev snickered before high fiving Icy again.

(Flashback)

Icy smiled. Now that thing Tech said about 'feeling like he had known her for years' and he and Cass 'having a deep connection' kinda made sense.

Kinda.

"Get out of her now...." Tech growled quietly, occasionally checking the monitor for anymore progress.

Seth smiled at Cass.
"You're apparently much stronger than me." he laughed.
Cassidy smiled back, but she then began to jerk and twitch and soon began shaking all over.
"Is she having a seizure!?" gasped Dusk.
"I can't te-" but before Tech could finish, Lucifer came zooming out of Cass and stopped dead center in the middle of the room.
"Hmm, touching." he murmered, and disapeared without a trace.
"....What the hell was that?" Seth said loudly.

Meanwhile, Lucifer was making his way back to the white church to find more leads.
(....and that's all I got)

Seth then pointed and laughed and Tech.
"LOLZ! You had to tie her down like you did to make CALE!"
Seth then was killed by Tech.

(*facepalm* Cale doesn't EXIST yet. They're not even married!!! XD)

(Dude. Seth's like... Professor Trelawney 83)

(Professor Seth 'Trelawney' Coyote ~ Seer extrodinare!! *imagines Seth wearing cloaks and bangles*)

Tech quickly undid the straps on Cassidy's wrists and ankles. The moment she was free, she sat up and threw her arms around Tech's neck in a hug. Tech held back a chuckle and just hugged her back. "You're okay, Cass. Just relax now." He whispered to her.

"I know. I was just..... scared" Her voice was quiet, and Tech could feel her shaking a little.

Tech nodded. "Rev.." He let go of Cassidy long enough to face the roadrunner. "Any news on Maria's location?"

Rev was typing at super-speed on the computer. "Uh, nothing yet Tech it might take a while because Acmetropolis itself is a HUGE area not to mention that those zombies could have taken her just about ANYWHERE They could be on Sari or Feleng or even Blanc or somewhere even farther than that but then again they could have her right underneath this tower or just in our backyard or something like that who KNOWS where they've taken her and I know you're worried Cassidy but don't you worry I'll find her if my name isn't Rev-MPPH!" The birds babble was cut off by a furry blue hand.

"Rev. Just shut your sesame seed trap and find her." Icy sighed, slowly releasing her freind's beak after he nodded in agreement.

Rev suddenly stop, looking around the room in confusion. "Uhhh guys?......I'm not sure.. but... I think there's someone else in the room too!"

"What do you mean? There's only us. How could there be anyone else?"

"I don't know it's really weird coz my GPS is acting kinda funny and I just have this gut feeling that there's someone else in here just watching us but we can't see him which may be part of the reason why I can't fing him on my GPS because it's acting up and " He paused

"Well, why'd you stop?" Duck asked.

"I was waiting for Icy to clamp her hand on my beak again."

Lucifer grinned as he sneaked up behind Duck. Slowly, he sunk into the mallard. Duck's eyes widened but he didn't have time to say anything before his whole body was under control of Lucifer.
"Duck? Are you okay?" Lexi asked.
Lucifer (now in control of Duck) gave Lexi a smug stare.
"Course I am." he mumbled in his best Duck impression.
He then turned his attention to Rev.
"Is your GPS okay now?"

Lucifer smiled.
"Hmm. That's weird. WEll like it matters, we hafta' find Ri-Maria."

The lich general had noticed she was falling behind beforehand, but didn't know why. He whirled around to see what she was calling him for, only to notice the girl was practically tipped onto the railing beside her.
If skeletons could sigh, he would have.
He trudged up to Maria and automatically hoisted her up and proceeded to carry her into the space shuttle.
"There really is no time now."

He remained silent. By now Maria would probably be used to this. But then, as he headed into the shuttle and set the coyote down, buckling her into her seat he finally managed to say something worth her attention; "It would be much easier for me to kill you. In fact, that would be my initial suggestion."
He headed to the main monitor of the shuttle.
"It confuses me as well."

"General, the coordinates are set."
Dakkarsis sat in the seat beside Maria, buckling himself in as he heard the voice of the German skeleton over the internal radio. "Good. How much time do we have left?"
"Tventy minutes."
The lich looked over at Maria, instantly turning his head away again. "Alright."

"Loonatics, we have trouble," the hologram annouced the second everyone was in the room.

"We sorta figured that on our own," Duck said, crossing his arms over his chest.
