So. I had an idea to make the OC kids go to their school prom.
Now, they have a lot to do. They have to help their Auntie Mazz make their outfits. They have regular stuff, like homework. PLUS they have to find dates!
Cale won't have to worry, as Matty D has already asked to take her. She honestly doesn't care, because she's been grounded, and her precious guitar has been taken away for three weeks! She'll do anything to get it back, even if it means possibly getting her cousin and date in trouble.
Meanwhile, Felicity and Celeste are at Auntie Mairi's, doing their homework and planning their sleepover.
What insanity could possibly come next? Knowing these guys, anything!

EDIT I finished saving everything. It may be a little bunched/ spread apart but I can't stand this anymore Im done XD
Cale glanced at the clock hanging on the wall above her teacher's head. There was only 1 minute until it would ring, and she and her freinds would FINALLY be free for another day.
"Come on, come on.... Hurry up, ya stupid clock." She muttered under her breath, completely oblivious to anything the teacher was saying.
The young she-coyote paused in her quiet ranting to look across from her desk, where her best freind, a part roadrunner, part fox hybrid sat, also glaring at the clock.
"Av.." Cale whispered to her. "I swear every day this thing gets slower and slower just to piss us off."
Avril nodded, not taking her eyes off of the clock, as if believing she did, the clock would stop.
Cale followed the girl's gaze. There was only 20 seconds left....

DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING!!!
Cale and Avril practically flew out of their seats, only to be stopped by their teacher.
"One moment, children. One of your classmates has an announcement." She said, pointing sternly to thier seats.
The pair slumped down in the chairs, waiting ever so impatiently for this to be over.
A young human girl around their age with curly blonde hair and a pink skirt and shirt outfit pranced up to the front of the room with the fakest smile you had ever seen plastered on ehr face.
"It's time once again to start planning for AcmeHigh's annual spring prom! With me as head of the student council, I will be heading all of the preparations, but your help will be needed to turn this part into a success! Themes will be announced later on. I hope all of you can come. But remember, if you do, don't come alone!"
Cale and Avril simutaneously rolled thier eyes, more than ready to leave.
After the announcement, the pair raced each other to their lockers, placed side-by-side along with Peirce's, Ash's, Quinton's, Eric's, While Matty D.'s, Newt's, Finny's, AJ's, Vanessa's and Sarah's lockers were on the other side of the hallway. The chances of them getting lockers nearly right beside each others was amazing, but the rest of the group had a mutal feeling that Matty D had something to do with it.
Just then, the blonde girl who had announced the prom appeared behind Cale. "Hi Caley. Are you excited for the prom?" She asked in a super sweet voice
"OH, I am just DYING with anticipation." Cale's tone being flat. "I wonder what kind of shoes we should wear, Av. Flats or heels?" She continued, facing her freind.
"Oh, very mature, Caley. Well, I guess that you losers would be better off not going anyway. Too ackward. Toodles!" She chirped before walking off.
Peirce watched her walk away, then turned to Cale. "You know what? Sometimes I find it amazing that you don't punch her face in."
Avril nudged Cale with her elbow. "Yeah. Just thirty-two more hits to go and you'll have a record." she and Ash snickered at this.
The group the began their walk home. Along the way theypassed AcmePrimary School, just in time for Felicity, Tarne, and Celeste to run up to them.
"Sissie! Sissie!" Felicity called out, running up to Cale and hugging her tightly.
"Hey, Peach." Cale allowed a smile to creep on her face as she hugged her younger sister.
Celeste smiled shyly and tugged on Quinton's sleeve. "We measured our heights today in shcool Quinty! I'm the 3rd tallest girl in my class!" she giggled. Quinton only nodded and grinned. He turned his attention to the others. "So I'm not the only one who's so not going?" he asked. "Ya think, Quint?" Cale replied.
"Where ya goin' Sissie?" Felicity questioned.
"Oh, there's a silly little dance at our school. We decided not to go."
"Awwwwww.. but why why why? Dancing is fun!"
"Sure Peach, whatever you say." The coyote let out a sigh of relief. "Good. And we probably shouldn't mention this to our parents, especially my FATHER." Quinton groaned.
"Yeah." Cale agreed. She bent down to Felicity's level and told her little sister firmly. "Felic, listen. You can't tell Mommy or Daddy about what we told you. Okay?"
"Why why Sissie?"
"Because Mommy and Daddy and our Aunties and Uncles will make us go. ANd that won't be fun."
"Ohhhhhh.. okay!"
Celeste smiled sweetly at Cale. "Why would the make you go?"
"We have no idea. They just would." Cale sighed. She couldn't wait to get home. She'd most likely lock herself in her room, playing on her guitar. No one to bug her.... except Matty possibly, but we'll just have to wait and see.
Celeste looked up at Cale, "When is it?" she asked innocently All of a sudden, out of absolutely nowhere, there was a noise. A strange noise. A loud noise. A scary noise. A noise that sounded like a cross between a cheerleaders cry of defeat after having broken two of her perfectly manacured nails whilst lifting a text book and a cat being tormented with a piece of string before being slammed between two trucks.
Every turned to look at Matty D.
"WHY??? WHY THE HECK AREN'T WE GOING???????? ANSWER ME THIS!!!!! WWWWHHHHHYYYYY????" He practically exploded, flinging his head back and wailing to the sky. He then dropped to his knees and fell forward, gripping the cement desperately. "All... All my life... I... I've been waiting... Waiting for... For s-such a day when... I... When I could..." He then raised his head, tears welling in his eyes. His face was twisted in an expression that resembled an incredibly tormented soul, wandering aimlessly between the worlds in search for something greater than that which could ever be imagined... Wanting... Needing...
"I've been waiting... To... To..." Tears streamed down his bill as he grimaced piteously. "Dance with Cale." Cale blinked.
Felicity practically screamed in joy. "YAY! Did you hear that, Sissie?! Matty wants to dance with you!!!!"
Cale blinked again.
Felicity was too busy jumping up and down to notice her older sister's shock.
After a few moments, Cale snapped back to reality. "Wait... WHAT?! You.... You actually WANT to go?!" She starred at the duck/lyrebird. "What the HECK is your issue Matt?!" Celeste gasped and grasped Felicity's elbow, trembling slightly. She loved her family to bits, 'tis true.
However, she's terrified of whenever Cale and Matty starts arguing. 3 words, 'World War 173'... and counting.
Quinton tried to hold in a snicker. "Matty's just messin' with you." he said, patting his cousin on the shoulder. "And being a total ba-" he looked down Celeste who innocently c.ocked her head to the side. "....bad....person...." he finished with a stutter.
Matty D then jumped to his a feet, a movement that was too quick and agile to have actually been seen by the naked eye. "Y'know what? I'd rather go with Quint'n ANYWAY." He grinned wildly. "Or maybe I'll go with BOTH o' you's! That'd be so pimpin'. All the girls'd be jealous," He added, thumbing towards Quinton. "And all the guys'd be..." He stopped and glanced blankly at Cale. "Relieved." He finished in a bland, slightly bitter tone.
Pierce coughed.
"I actually don't think it's a bad idea-"
"What, that I chew off Ash's face?"
"Matt.......... Where did that even come from??"
"One o' those things I was thinkin of b't di'n't acksssshhhually sssssaaayuh."
"Why do you wanna chew off my face??" D8
"Don't question me. Just comply." T__T
"ALRIGHT! As I was saying! I reckon it'd be a good idea. For you lot, I mean." He pointed towards Cale, Ash, Avril, Matty D and Newt. "Ya know. Mingle with the commoners." His voice dropped to a deadpan tone. "Act normal for a change."
"Pierce... I swear..." Avril began threateningly, her eyes forming small slits of violence. "If you so much as BREATHE a word about this to our parents... So help me, I will tell everyone what you told me last week-"
"What? That he 'ad a crush on Arianna back in second grade 'n' didn't get ov'r 'er until the fifth grade?" Finny interjected. "Ash already told me."
"And I hacked the email!!!!!" Matty slammed a fist on his chest proudly with a face that strangely resembled an '8' and a 'D'.
"... You need a life." In an instant, Cale's hair went up in a poof of static electricity, making her appear as though she got into a fight with a power point and lost miserably. "Rrrrrrrrrrrrr... Maaatttyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!" She growled deep in her throat, causing Felicity to huddle behind Tarne, who had had his arm linked with hers the entire conversation.
Before anything further could happen, the duck-lyrebird hybrid disappeared from the street, merging with an overhead power cable and travelling back to the tower with lightning speed.
"Five bucks says that the oldies will know about the dance by the time we get home."
"Fin. I-un't takin that bet." Pierce adjusted his glasses. "There's little doubt that he WON'T breathe a word."
Newt became visible, standing between Eric and Quinton, before signing something, which Finny translated.
" 'The concept of Matt intercepting vital information and not sharing it with those who don't need to know is more absurd than Cale's current hairstyle'. "
Cale stopped in the middle of trying to flatten her hair back down and turned to give Newt a sharp look, but he'd already faded into nothing.
Ash sighed. "Come on, guys. We might as well go and face our punishment."
"Ugh! I can't believe Matty would do this!!" Avril grumbled, kicking a stone.
"You know he just wants the opportunity to hack the school's security system while the teachers aren't payin' attention and start messing with things, right?"
There was a breif silence before everyone turned to look at one another. A chorus of, "Oh yeah's" and "That'd be right's" and "As if he wouldn't's" and "Sounds believable's" floated through the small group as they headed back home.
"MY BABY ISN'T GOING TO HIS PROM!?" squealed Seth, grabbing his son by the shoulders. "WHY NOOOOOOOT!? You need to meet a nice girl, or boy, I aint questioning your sexuality." "Father..." grumbled Quinton. "I am STRAIGHT as pole-" "A strippers pole-" "SHUT UP MATT!" snarled the coyote. "But mah little boy HAS to go to his prom! And my neices and nephews!" the alchemist shouted, staring at the others. "I'm not worried about Matty though." he stated, giving the boy a thumbs up. "Of course not, HE'S YOUR SPAWN." Quinton growled.
Matty D. gave his Uncle the thumbs up in turn. What a great guy. :3
"I-un't objecting to it, to be honest." Pierce said with a blank face.
"Good!" Mairi stated. "Because I'm making EVERYONE'S dresses and tuxes!!!"
"I want mine to be hot pink!"
"Matty... You're not wearing a hot pink suit." Duck frowned.
Matty D. made an extreme 'ohnoes' face before crying a little.
"I t'ink it'd be good for you kids to go socialise wit' odder people instead of whoever's in dis tower." Ace declared, clapping his hands together for emphasis.
"Besides! Spring dances were always a lot of fun-"
"Back in your day." Finny interjected, not even bothering to make eye contact with Lexi, who shot him a sour look.
"And anyway! It would be good if the public saw that we weren't raising our kids to avoid contacting with the outside world unless absolutely necessary." Tech added.
"That's pretty much what I said." Pierce smiled, adjusting his spectacles.
"Pierce."
"Yes Chef?" :3
"Stop talking."
"Yes Chef." ):
"Daddddd!!! Please don't make me go!!! You know I hate anything resembling a skirt and I really don't know how to dance like people do at this kinda stuff!!"
"Cale, I know you hate this, but it's a good idea. You barely communicate with the world outside this tower unless absolutely necassary and it's not good."
"Says the man who spent most of his high school and college life inside his room." Cale rolled her eyes.
"Caaaaaale." Tech warned her.
"Besides, neither of you went to your prom." Cale crossed her arms and slouched back in her chair grouchily.
"How did you know?"
"Aunt Ice told me."
"Listen, Cale. I understand where you're coming from. I hate dresses and skirts. I really don't like public stuff like this. But trust me, you're gonna have fun." Cassidy smiled at her daughter.
Cale huffed. "Okay.... whatever..."
"That's my girl. Now, go finish your homework. If you finish fast enough we'll go looking tonight if you want."
"Want is a strong word."
"Thought so."
Mairi suddenly jumped into the conversation. "If you really don't wanna wear a dress, Cale, I could make you a tux! It wouldn't be an overtly MANLY tux... But it'd be nice! And I could make it purple!" The lyrebird beamed happily.
"Can you make MY tux purple?"
"Matt. Get out."
"Yes Chef."
Cale just stared at her aunt for a moment.
And so did Cassidy and Tech.
"I'm getting out of here." Cale muttered before heading towards her bedroom.
"Aunty Mairi!" Felicity piped up. "Can I helps you?!"
Mairi grinned, hardly affected by Cale's attitude. "Sure thing possum! I won't start tonight, but I'll definitely need a good helper like you!" ^___^
"YAYYAYYAYYAYYAY!!!" Felicity bounced up and down.
Cassidy smirked. "Felicity seems more excited for this than Cale is."
"I agree. Cale was always a a bit more spunky back in the day." Seth said. Celeste stared at Mazz in aw. "Auntie! Can you make me a dress!?" she asked with wide curious eyes. "You're not even going to the dance, pigeon." stated Dusk. "I know, but I'd like a dress anyway!" Celeste squeaked, grabbing onto Mairi's hand. "Pleeeeaaaassseeee?"
Sapphire sat on the couch with her legs crossed, a habit she never actually got to lose over the years. “Sure you can sweetheart, I’m sure your Aunty Mairi won’t mind.”
Celeste ran past the others until she was standing in front of Sapphire, “We had to measure ourselves in school and I’m the third tallest mama! Felic’s the tallest,” she beamed.
She smiled brightly to match her daughter’s enthusiasm, “Angel, at the rate that you’re growing you’ll be taller than me soon.”
“Wow, that’s a shocker,” Duck snickered (XD), earning him a handful of feathers in the face courtesy of Dusk.
“You are not allowed to speak,” the angel said T______T.
Quinton then made his way to the exit. "Hold on there mister." Seth chortled darkly, grabbing his son by the ears. "You're going to the prom. No exceptions. And you're going with Matty D. If that's alright with you Matty." Seth swooned, smiling happily at his nephew (sorta').
Matty D. fist pumped and started dancing like a wacko.
"I don't think I approve of this..." Duck began, looking towards Mairi for support in his view.
"YOU CAN BOTH HAVE MATCHING SUITS!" She squealed excitedly.
Duck facepalmed.
Quinton stared at his father, and then at Matty, and then at his father again. "Father...do you want me to commit suicide?" "Don't give me none of that young man." Seth said sternly. "You're going no matter WHAT.
Meanwhile, Cale was already in her room, door locked. She pulled out her Music Blaster and turned it on. She quickly pulled her guitar from its case under her bed.
"Homework can wait." She muttered to herself, plucking at the strings with an expert hand, playing along with the song she was listening to.
After a few minutes of solitude, however, Cale's peace ws broken by the flickering of lights and her guitar suddenly not working, it being one that you had to plug in.
"MATTHAIS!!!!!!!!" DX
Meanwhile.... in an alternate dimension that is away from Cale's bedroom, which was outside with the others XD
Lexi folded her ears back and rolled her eyes upon hearing the shout, "Honestly, this place is going to be turned into an asylum sooner or later."
Sapphire nodded, "I miss having the old Cale around, as in the younger one."
Quinton stared at his aunt Sapphire with a dull expression. "Like THAT wil ever happen. The only way to get little Cale back is with some sort of time machin-" "THATS IT!" yelled Tech, and he rushed to his lab.
Sapphire looked at Tech, a sheepish smile on her face. "You were in the lab again, weren't you witch?" Lexi sighed.
"Old habits die hard I suppose," Sapphire shrugged.
Duck gave Sapphire and Lexi a blank stare, realising that there wasn't really anything more to discuss. "Mairi. Round up the boys. Jack needs to be walked." He declared before leaving the room.
Mairi smiled as she looked around. "1, 2, 3, 4... 4..."
"5 disappeared through the screen." Pierce assisted, thumbing towards the TV before adjusting his glasses.
Mairi sighed. "Come on then, you mob. Walk, fruit, then homework."
Cass sighed. "I should go check and make sure Cale's doing her homework.."
Ace watched as most of his teammates and their children dispersed from the main room. He sighed. Why wasn't parenthood easier?
Before Matty D. had a chance to walk Jack, Quinton grabbed him by his hair. Turning the lyre...duck...lets just call it a lyck, around and looking at him straight in the eyes. "Look here Matthais," snarled the coyote. "I'll go to the prom just to get the old man off my back and I'll go with you. But lets just make this clear-" his eyes narrowed as he began his proposition. "You don't talk to me, you don't come near me, you don't speak off me, you don't dance near or with me, and God forbid you will not TOUCH me throughout the prom." finished the boy. "Understood?"
Matty D. grinned wildly. "Sher thing, sugah!" He slurred in his Australian accent, before sending a small zap of electricity through Quinton's system, forcing him to release his hair. He then skipped twice before somersaulting, flipping and cartwheeling away with his brothers. Cassidy knocked on Cale's bedroom door, as it was locked. "Cale? It's Mom. Can I come in?"
"Uhhhhh.. Sure! I'm coming!" Was the reply. A few moments later, the door opened. "Hey Mom. What's up?"
Cassidy smiled. "Just wanted to check how the homework was coming. Do you need help or are you okay?"
"No, I'm good. It's actually kind of easy." Cale looked slightly nerved. Cassidy knew this. She knew Cale was trying to hide something.
"Well, can I come in?"
"Oh, sure!" Cale stepped out of the doorway and let her mother in. Cassidy looked around. There was no sign of her guitar being out. She must have put it back.
"So what's your homework about?"
"Oh... uh.... it's just English, that's it."
Cassidy noticed the papers and pencil laying on her desk. There was not a single word written, and the girl had been in her room for about 20 minutes.
"Cale. You haven't done anything."
"Uhhh..."
"Don't. Just, don't even try. You were playing with that guitar of yours again instead of doing your homework. Correct?"
"Mom, I-"
"Cale Elizabeth Rose Coyote. You KNOW better than this. You know that when you get home, you are supposed to look after Snowy, then do your homework. I don't know how many times I've had to keep telling you this. This is your last chance."
Cale kept silent.
"Snowy will stay with Felicity until you learn to be responsible. And, your father and I will be holding your guitar for three weeks."
"Three weeks?! Mom-"
"Do you want to make it four?"
Cale quieted again. "Fine......Mom, do I-"
"Yes, you are still going to the prom."
"Crap."
"OW!" screamed Quinton, shaking his hands. "That f*cking HURT you little a** hole!" he screamed. "Quinton Alexander Coyote!" shreiked Quick.
Sapphire giggled into her palm, another happy family moment in the tower.
“Mama, is it okay if Felic’s stays in my room tonight? Ms Casey made us partners for a science project and we want to get a head start,” Celeste asked, tugging on her mom’s sleeve.
“I don’t mind angel, go and ask your Aunty Cassidy first though,” Sapphire said, brushing away some of her daughters’ blonde bangs away from her eyes. Celeste beamed happily and ran off to find her friend.
Sapphire watched until Celeste turned a corner and disappeared from sight, “Let’s just hope the room is still recognizable in the morning.” While Celeste was running down the hallway, form the exact opposite direction came Felicity, also running.
However, neither of them notice each other....
THUMP!
Felicity rubbed her head. "Owowowowowowowowow..." She whimpered.
Celeste let out a hiccup, and then a small sob. "Owwwwwww..." she cried, rubbing her eyes as tears began to swell up.
Felicity, suddenly forgetting her own pain because of her freind, sat up and gasped. "CelestCelesteCelesteCeleste!!!!!" She huggled the young angel tightly...maybe too tightly...
Celeste let out another sob before returning to her normal cheerful self. "All better!" she giggled. "Felic! Do you wanna' sleep in MY room tonight?"
Felicity let out a long GASP.
"SLEEPOVER? REALLY??!!!!" Celeste smiled. "Yeah! We can paint our nails, and do eachothers hair, and watch pony movies, and play with dolls, and bake cookies, and-" "I'm going to go wash out my brain now." Quinton muttered, passing by the two chattering girls. "YAYYAYYAYYAYYAYYAYYAYYAYYAYYAY!!!!" Felicity squealed, jumping up and down. "Let'sgolet'sgolet'sgolet'sgo!!!"
Celeste jumped with joy. "Alright! Lets go ask your mommy!"
Felicity nodded and the pair ran down the hallway, obvlivious to where they were going.
"MOMMY!Mommymommymommymommy!"
"Good greif Felic, I'm right here Peach." cassidy replied, walking out of Cale's bedroom, which was right behind the girls.
"Ms. Cassy! Can Felicity stay in my room tonight?" Celeste asked, her eyes wide and pleading.
Quinton sneaked passed them and entered Cale's room, silently closing the door behind him. "Cale. Please shoot me."
"Gladly." Cale snapped. "After what just happened I need to let out some anger." A growl came to her throat. Cassidy smiled at Celeste. "Sure, hon. But, you two make sure you're in bed and asleep before either me or Sapphire go to check on you... Okay?" Celeste giggled. "Okay! C'mon!" she laughed, grabbing Felicity's hand rushing to her room.
Quinton sat on the edge of his cousin's bed. "You think YOU have it rough? Matt's my date." he cried, putting his head in his hands.
"Really? Well, let's see.... I'm grounded for three weeks. Which means no guitar, no computer, nothing but homework and on TOP of that, I STILL have to go to this STUPID PROM!"
She then slammed her fist down on her desk.
"Tha's sh*t girl." Quinton grumbled. Cale growled again. "But I guess there's nothing I can do about it....." She paused, only to stab her pencil into her paper. "What are you gonna do about Matt?"
Celeste and Felicity ran the length all the way to the little girl's room, nearly knocking into Sapphire in the process.
"HI AUNTY SAPH!" Felicity squeeled loudly, beaming up at her.
"Hey Felice," she smiled down at her while patting down the last pillow.
This is gonna' be so fun Felice!" Celeste giggled. "What do you wanna' do?"
Quinton shrugged. "I just told him to stay away from me. And then he shocked me. And then mom totally freaked out on me for telling that jerk off." muttured the boy, transmuting awall infront of Cale's door.
"And I guess I have to find someone to go with me..." She grumbled, not really liking the idea. But Matty's words had stuck in her head. 'I've been waiting to dance with Cale...'
She shook her head. 'Gah! What the heck was that!! I don't even want to go, let alone with Matt of all people!!!' With that, she grabbed her music blaster which she had hiden in hope her mother wouldn't think of it, and turned it on after placing the earphones in her ears.
'Much better.' She sighed and leaned bck in her chair.
...
"Uhhhh......... Mommy said I have to do my homework...... but Aunty Mairi helped me always.... we go to Aunty Mairi?"
"Let's go!" Celeste said, leaping up and taking Felicity's hand as the two girls skipped out from the room giddy with excitement for the fun night.
Quinton sighed, staring at the wall that he had created, He added some swirls and random designs to the wall. He'd never been so pissed in his entire life. He glanced at Cale and poked her leg. "They're probably going to wonder where we are."
Suddenly, Quinton recieved a text. It was from his bff Newt. Newt and Quinton were such bffs that it wasn't even funny. They were, in fact, the bestest bffs in the entire world. And now, Quinton had a text from his bestest bff! What fun!! The message read: "Congratulations! You have won a date with Matthias Duck! You are now forced to endure a night of dancing, singing, and generally uncomfortable activities with possibly the biggest freak on the face of the planet! Well done! You're f*cked! 8D"
Cale didn't even look up from the floor. "Newt bein' an arse again?" She guessed.
.........
"Aunty Mairi! AuntyMairiAuntyMairiAuntyMairi!!!!" Felicity called out as she and Celeste once again ran down the hallway. "Where are youyouyou!!"
Mairi then called out from some unknown area of the tower: "YOU TWO HAD BETTER NOT BE RUNNING INSIIIIIIIIIDE."
Instinctively, the girls stopped and glanced at one another.
"I think she's magic." Felicity whispered.
"Like a pixie." Celeste agreed, wide-eyed.
The two then continued making their way through the tower, tip-toing cautiously as they went.
Quinton stared at the text. He in fact, stared at said text for a rather long time. He then glance over at Cale and then back at the text. "Go drown in a toilet you pansy." he texted, sending it without hesitation.
Celeste tiptoed as cautiosly as possible. "Aunt Mazzy?" she caleld out once again, half expecting the lyre walk through a black sparkly portal like that one game Tarne was playing last weekend about that child with the giant key.
Cale had been peeking at the message. "Such a sweet little pancake, aren't ya?"
Quinton smirked at the comment. "Your adorable, really." he snapped his phone shut and lifted himself up from the bed. "Need help with your homework?" he asked, which was secret code for "I'll do your homework for a bout 50 bucks".
"Sorry, Quint. But I'm short about... 49 bucks and fifty cents today." Cale sighed. "I guess I have to do it the old-fashioned way.." She picked up her pencil. "If you don't get me my guitar back by tommorrow, I am going to hunt you down in the middle of the night and stab you to death with this pencil. And I'll make sure it's blunt." Quinton shrugged. "Whatev's." he said. "...Why do I have your guitar in the first place?"
Cale facepalmed.
"My Mom and Dad have my guitar! Where were you two minutes ago?!"
Quinton shrugged. "I wasn't apying attention." he muttered. "How am I gonna' get it back? I could just make a spare one for you."
"No. I want MY guitar back...." she smiled slyly. "But, if you made one to look exactly like mine, Mom and Dad wouldn't know the difference!"
Quinton smirked. "Ah, you got a point there." he took a piece of paper and a pen. "So, what kind of wood is made out of?"
As Quinton and Cale discussed the details of Cale's guitar, Cassidy walked into the lab with said instrument, a stressed out look on her face.
Tech looked up at her from his chair. "Something wrong, Cass?"
"I don't know.... Cale was in her room for over twenty minutes and she hadn't so much as touched her homework! So, we have her guitar for the next three weeks. And Snowy stays with Felicity until she starts showing some improvement."
"Good idea."
Cassidy frowned. "Tech... she's like me. She's acting the exact same way I did when I was her age! And it worries me. I don't want her living the life I had as a teen. I understand what she's going through at school, but she needs to smarten up."
Tech hugged her. "I know. But hey, she has us. Remember that."
Quinton wrote down the last of the notes and nodded to his cousin. "Okay. I'll get right on it. But..." he outstretched his hand. "35 dollars at the very least."
Cale sighed. "I'm still 33 dollars and 50 cents short.... you don't mind waiting for the money do you? I just need next weeks' and the week after that's allowance and I'll have enough." She was desperate. Her guitar meant more to her than anything else. She worked for months earning 'couch change' to save up for that guitar. She would never make it through the next three weeks without it.
Celeste and Felicity quietly skipped down the hall arm in arm until they reached the lift. "What floor is Aunty Mazz in again?" Celeste asked her coyote comrade.
Felicity scratched her head. " Uuuuuuhhhhh... One second! I'll ask Sissie! She'll know!!!"
'Sissie! Sissie!!'
Cale blinked. 'Felic? What's wrong?'
'Celeste and I can't remember what floor Aunty Mazz is on. Which one?'
'234, Peach.'
'Oh, I remember now! Thanks Sissie!!!'
Quinton looked at Cale with curious eyes. "I thought it was 236." he said.
Cale glared at him. "Get out of my head." She then focused on her little sister.
'Sorry, Peach, it's 236.'
'Oh good, Celeste didn't push the button yet.'
"What is it?" asked Celeste. "236." replied Cale. And with that, the girl pushed the button that read '236' and they were on they're way.
"Sorry." chuckled the boy. "I better get up there too, Mazz probably has most of the supplies."
"Just DON'T tell Aunt Mazz ANYTHING about this. Coz then she'll tell my parents and then we're both screwed." Cale warned him.
Celeste and Felicity skipped down the short hallway, brightly lit and warm, with murals on both walls depicting traditional Australian scenery. When they reached the door at the end, Felicty stood on her toes in order to ring the bell. They waited, giggling and clinging to one another's arms. Soon, the doors slid open and before them stood their Auntie-
Mairi. With a warm smile, she held out a large basket filled with lollies, chocolates, musli bars, fruit sticks and other assortments of treats. "Take one, then go in and sit in the chill-out room. I need to fold a few more towels before we start." She instructed sweetly. The girls complied, before stepping into the familiar teritory of their Auntie's home and settling themselves at the dining table. The house wasn't unusually quiet for this time of day. Part of the reason why Mairi sent the boys out with the dog was so that Felicity could have her lessons in peace.
Mairi and Duck's home was predominantly organised, decorated, furnished and cleaned by the former of the two, adopting a stay-at-home position after she gave birth to her eldest son. It was throught this that she became a second parent to most of the children, caring for them when their parents were out on missions, amusing them whilst the team were training, offering them valuable lessons whilst Ace was leading everyone on an important investigation. A lot of time was spent on this floor, which was built and designed by Tech and Cassidy as a wedding present for the avian couple. It was also equipped with a locking device, protecting the entire area from attacks on the tower. This system has proved itself worthy all but once, and Mairi had the injuries to show for it.
The front door opened up straight into a hallway that turned sharply to the right and led on to the bedrooms and bathrooms. To the left was the dining and recreational room, fitted with a fake fireplace, a pull-out sofa-bed, a piano and of course a large table. It was fitted with wodden floors, like the hallway, with two large white rugs at each end of the room. Pale cherub statues and ornaments decorated the mantle piece and most of the surface space in the room, with soft, lacey doilies to keep the wooden furniture protected from scratches. The pull-out bed was covered in a fuzzy white blanket, with an excessive amount of cushions and teddies sitting on it, most of which were made by Mair herself. To the right of the sofa was a bookshelf, adorned with excessive amounts of family photos, all in plain white frames. On top of the piano were a series of model ships as well as a large portrait of Mairi, Duck and their five sons hanging on the wall. This was recognised by all as the 'chill-out room'.
Celeste swung her legs, looking around and taking in the room. For some reason, it looked different every time she visited. As Felicity began to sift through the different books Mairi had already set out for her, the lyrebird walked in. She sat down, between the girls, holding her right knee. She then brushed off the front of her pants, straightened the table cloth and turned to Felicity. "What would you like to start with?" :3
Celeste looked aside and spotted a piece of cloth hanging out from a basket.
"Aunty Mazz, what's that?" the little girl asked, a sparkle of curiosity in her eyes.
Mairi looked to where Celeste's gaze was directed. "Oh, that's just my sewing." She smiled.
"You're so good!" she giggled. "You should be a fashion desinger Auntie!" This is when Quinton entered. "Aunt Mairi?" he called out. "Can I borrow some supplies for school?" he asked.
Felicity looked at the books with wide eyes. Only then did she remember something. She hated school work. She was excited to go to Auntie Mairi's floor just purely because it was Auntie Mairi's floor. But she knew she had to do her work. Besides it was more fun with Auntie Mairi. Plus, her best freind Celeste was there, making it twice as much fun!
"Uhh......This one, please." Felicity answered, pointing to her English book.
Celeste giggled. "Oh, English is so easy Felic!" she laughed. "Math on the other hand..."
Felicity made a face of horror. "Not Math!!! I doesn't like Math!"
Mairi patted Felicity's hand. "You don't like maths, possum. Not doesn't. Don't." She spoke with a very patient and motherly tone, before turning towards Quinton. "What sort of supplies, moppet?" She smiled.
"Uh..all the things on this list." he said, handing her the piece of paper
The lyrebird took the list and read it over. "Hmmm... This looks strangely like the materials needed for an instrument..." Quinton scratched the back of his head and pretended to look disinterested. But before he could come up with an excuse-
"Beauty! S'pose you're making somethin' for school then? You can do it here, if you want! It'll be nice and quiet for the next few hours. Get a head start and stuff." She slowly got to her feet before wandering away. Quinton blinked. He should have remembered that Mairi wasn't as suspicious as his parents. Which is probably why her boys got away with so much stuff.
The lyrebird returned a few minutes later with a box full of things. She put them on the table and began checking off the list. "Yep! All here! Makin' a guitar, I'll bet. Reckon Cale'd like that. You should give it to her after you're done. She'd appreciate that!"
If only she knew.
Felicity stared at Quinton for a moment. "But, Auntie Mairi........ Sissie has a guitar. She saved her monies to buy one."
Quinton twitched. If he didn't love that girl so much, he'd be ripping her face off right now. "Well, she could just use it as a spare incase something happens to her original. Like if a string broke or something like that." he informed, laying out the materials. He closed his eyes and lifted his hands out a bit. The supplies molded together slowly, a soft grey light illuminating around it. And with a small flash, a guitar appeared. An exact replica of Cale's. The coyote wiped his brow. "Nice." he said to himself, tapping on the base. "Alright then, Thanks Auntie. I'll get going now." he stated, picking up the instrument.
"Hang on a tickie!" Quinton stopped in his tracks before slowly turning to face his Auntie. She had a very stern look on her face. He kept a cool expression, not wanting to let on...
"Are you allowed to use you powers for class projects?" She questioned, wagging a finger at him. Quinton grinned. "'Course I am."
Mairi was satisfied with this. She smiled, handed him a chocolate bar before sitting back at the table carefully.
"Thanks Auntie." he called out as he left 236. The coyote made his way down to Cale's room quickly, the chocolate bar stuck in his mouth. He rushed into her room as quikly as possible, shutting the door quietly. Cale was sitting at her desk, an eyebrow c.ocked in curiosity. "I get that from my mom." he stated, placing the guitar down.
Cale picked it up, looking it over. "Perfect, looks exactly like mine." She then set it down and began to think some more. "Now.. to swap it with mine..." She tapped her pencil against her chin, much like what her mother would do while deep in thought.. only she wasn't sitting on her bed upside down. "Can you meet me outside my dad's lab at 2:30 in the morning? I may need back-up to get out of there alive."
Quint groaned. "SERIOUSLY? Cale, what am I going to do?" he grumbled, running his hand through his hair.
"All you have to do is keep an eye and ear out for any of our parents. Leave the dirty work to me, cous." Cale held her hand out to Quinton. "You in?"
Quinton rolled his eyes. "Fine...but you owe me DOUBLE for this..."
"I'll pay you back.." Cale assured her cousin. 'Eventually....' She added in her head, hoping he wouldn't hear.
EVENTUALLY?" he growled.
Cale gave him the biggest, most innocent smile she had pulled since she was seven. "Well, yeah, Quint! I can't pay you right away! In case you've forgotten, I only have one dollar and fifty cents on me!"
"Well you better hurry it up. I got a book I want to buy." he said, pluckinga guitar string. At that moment, a prickling filled the air. There was a crackled of electronic static before a figure imerged from a power point. As Matty D. stabilised his form from pure electricity to avian flesh, he grinned in a manner much like a sociopathic ten-year-old who had just tormented their first smaller, weaker human being with a lighter and a piece of string to the point where they had visibly died a little on the inside.
Cale and Quinton glared at him with an equal amount of disgust and contempt.
"Sooooooo... Flogginna guitar, huh?" He slipped his leather gloved hands into the pockets of his pale torn jeans and began rocking back and forth, that same, queer smile on his bill.
"Rrrrrr! Matty! Quit SPYING on me!" Cale growled from deep within her throat.
"Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmnah." He shook his head before tilting it to the sides, his eyes wide and crazy. "Iiiiii waaaaaant in." He declared.
"No." The two coyote anthros said in unison.
The avian raised his eyebrows, his grin never leaving his face. "Oh. Really? Tha's yer answer? Eve'when, all things considered, I'm prolly tha most eh-fish-ent feller to gain access to Tech's lab? Especially when you think about all tha traaaapssss and coooooodessss that get chaaaaaanged on a weekly baasiiiiiiiissss..." He lowered his head, and suddenly his creepy smile turned into an evil creepy smile.
Cale turned to Quinton, who was still glaring at Matty...
Quinton eyes narrowed. He had to admit, Matt had a point...but still.
"You crazy son-of-a..." the boy trailed off, remembering who he WAS the son of. He turned toward his cousin, who looked at each of the boys very seriously.
"Wha'do you think Cale? Should we let physco electrician in?"
Cale gave Matty one last glare before stating. "I guess we really don't have a choice. Knowing him, our plan could be all over the city before suppertime."
"Ain't that the truth..." Quint mumbled and nodded in agreement.
"Alright fine, whatever Matt, you're in." he rolled his eyes at the bird.
It was then that Matty held up a hand. "Hang on a tickie! I never said I'd do it for free. Yes, I'm tha only one who can pull this shiznit off. But I'un't ever said I'd do it without askin' summin in return." 83
Cale blinked. "At this rate, I won't have any allowance until next year." She sighed.
"That's hoping it's money he wants."
Quinton shuddered at the thoughts of what they could possibly be.
"So what's it gonna take? Whadoya want?" he regretted asking.
"Oh, I'un't wan' yer money." Matt's was once again shadowed by a much darker and terrifying expression. "I wanna take Cale to th' dance aswell."
Cale suddenly felt her heart leap... or was it her stomach lurching? She really couldn't tell.
"Uhh........... I guess... I mean, if anyone asks, Quinton could just be the cousin who tags along......so.. sure, I think.."
Cale glared at the floor, causing her hair to fall in her face. She was hoping neither Matt or Quinton had seen her blushing.
Quinton eyed Matty D, who of course grined wildly at Cale's answer. He thought it strange of Cale to agree in such a way, but didnt question it any farther.
At the moment there were only two words that came to mind, and he said them with a slow tone.
"You whore."
Matty D. giggled wildly like a small girl on crack, spinning twice and clapping his hands gleefully. He then zapped from the light socket to right in front of Cale and Quinton, his movement so rapid, that he only flickered in front of their eyes before suddenly appearing closer. He then grabbed Cale's hand and gave it an enthused shake before doing the same to Quinton. "We shook! No Indian-giving! Meet me outside tha lab at 0200 hours!" And with that, he was gone.
Quinton blinked. And was sure his cousin did too.
Then, without looking at Cale he said aloud:
"Why do I feel like we just shook hands with the devil?" (D8)
"I'm pretty sure we just did." Cale replied, her voice flat.
Quinton blinked again with a "hm", then turned to face his kin.
"Uhhh...yeahhh I think I'll visit Uncle Dusk..later..on." he chuckled a bit, but looked as if he was a little serious.
"So, the guitar's good, you sure?" he scratched the back of his head.
Cale nodded. "It's perfect..." She paused rather ackwardly. "Thanks, Quint."
"Alright then." he clapped his hands together quietly and looked to his left.
It was an awkward moment.
Quinton let out a sigh. "I didn't want to go out with him anyway." he laughed. "Ill see you around." he said, leaving the room. Quinton shut the door quietly, letting his back lean against it in a slumped like fashion. He really didn't mind Matty taking Cale out. He snorted and looked up at a flickering light on the ceiling. He just wished the person HE liked would ask him out.
MEANWHILE:
Felicity and Celeste were doing their English homework with Mairi. Celeste was having no problem at all, seeing that she was very good at English. Though math was much harder for her. "Do you need any help Felicity?" she asked with a smile.
Celeste began to explain the concept of their english homework while Quinton stayed isolated in his room. His head hurt for some odd reason.
"Auntie Mairi, what's this squiggly line thingie?" Celeste pointed out to a random Maths book on the table.

Felicity looked from Celeste to her English book, then to Mairi. "Aunty Mairi....I .... don't 'member this word..." She pointed in her book to the word, 'adverb.'
